Day Tour By YB Datuk Seri Panglima Dr Jeggrey and SME Sabah

Datuk Yap Yun Fook briefed how Eco Yap Farm run during the visit of Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan, President of SME Sabah Association, Mr Foo Ngee Kee and his SME team

18 August – YB Datuk Seri Panglima Dr Jeffrey Kitingan, the Deputy Chief Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries of Sabah, President of SME Sabah Association, Mr Foo Ngee Kee and SME Sabah’s members took a visit at Eco Yap Dairy Farm to see Eco Yap’s farming and management system in order to gain knowledge and business idea in agriculture sector.

Dolley Parton once said “If your actions create a legacy that inspires others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, then, you are an excellent leader.”. Dr Jeffrey Kitingan and Foo Ngee Kee shows us a good role model as being an excellent leader.

Datuk Yap also addressed how dairy sector is becoming a sunset industry with only approximately 30 dairy farmers left in Sabah, down from around 600 in the past due to growing expenses that compel farmers to close their doors.

According to Datuk Yap, Sabah produces roughly nine million litres of milk annually, but as more farms have closed as a result of increasing operating costs, the volume is declining. He hope that governments could take immediate action to support local dairy farms through the provision of cows, milking machine and chiller tanks.
